Structural Information:
The was professionally built by Marginson Residential Construction from 2007-2008.

Foundation:
on 8X5 ft concrete piers with Big Foot bases.

Framing:
2X6 wall framing with R12 fiberglass insulation and Typar weather membrane.
2X8 rafters with 2" spacers, ridge!!and eve vents, T&G plywood and R12 fiberglass insulation. Each rafter is reinforced with Strong Tie hurricane ties.

Electrical:
A self-contained photovoltaic system provides 12V and 110V to the cottage. Designed for seasonal use it is sufficient to sustain the basic electrical needs of a couple.

Plumbing:
Potable water is provided by a well dug in 2008 and lined with cast concrete walls. The well is dug over an underground spring and the water level has never run below 50%. An underground pipe brings the water to the house. All inside plumbing is designed to be easily accessible and is built of PEX.
12V underwater pump pushes water at 2.5 Gpm into a buffer tank located in the crawlspace.
Shurflo pressure pump connected to a 20 Gal pressure tank provides pressurized water.

Internet:
Flat-fee high-speed internet is installed using Eastlink Rural Broadband system. This system is based on Motorola's 900MHz Canopy technology and provides download speeds up to 1.5Mbps.
As a backup, 4G cellular network will soon be available in the area through Telus and Eastlink. 3G is currently available for your iPhone/Android/Blackberry device.
