Temperatures rarely stray outside of the the 65 to 80 degree fahrenheit range. The air is clean and clear. From the windows, porches and grounds of Vivir Sostenible your view extends from Vulcan Baru behind you to the Jaramillo range to your left, with a broad expanse of the Pacific Ocean and islands straight ahead. The home is in the middle of some of the most incredible birdwatching and hiking in the world. The world famous Quetzal Trail begins some 10 minutes from Vivir Sostenible. You will be surrounded with opportunities for sight-seeing, biking, flyfishing and white water rafting. David's international airport is 40 minutes away, gorgeous beaches are a 50 minute drive down the mountain, and boats are available for all day excursions in the offshore Pacific Islands and reefs - with hardly another boat in sight the entire day. This is an area that remains relatively unspoiled by development. Ecosystem functions remain largely intact. Rainforests are real - and extensive. The Pacific Ocean here teems with life from apex predators to the tiniest reef dwellers. Fishing and diving are adventures - not cattle-boat excursions.
This property has recently been completed. It is the first of a variety of Vivir Sostenible rental homes and small eco-resorts that are being designed in Panama, New Zealand and the Northeast United States. The driving philosophy behind these projects is the belief that there is a need for small, well-designed, elegantly furnished and family-friendly independent living accommodations in desirable, non-traditional vacation destinations. The living and dining rooms are furnished with comfortable pieces imported from Viet Nam and Thailand. In the bedrooms you will find no "hotel" mattresses. We've slept (or not slept) on those. Instead, comfortable high-quality bedding is provided throughout. You will sleep well in the cool mountain evening with down and feather pillows, cotton sheets, blankets and down comforters. The kitchen includes all pots and pans, utensils, dishes, coffee maker, appliances, washer/dryer, and more. In the bathrooms you'll love the towels - cotton, plush and large.
