Puerto Piritu is located in the central coast of Anzoátegui with a population with 11,000 inhabitants. Puerto Píritu was founded on 1513 like The Manjar. The city still conserves colonial constructions. Tourism,fishing and commerce are the main sources of income.

Puerto Píritu is a tourist zone per excellence, like the other cities of the Anzoátegui States due to the exceptional geographic conditions that offers beautiful beaches and lagoons. The Eastern coast of Anzoátegui has a tourist infrastructure of recent data.

Margarita is the capital of the Nueva Esparta State. It is full of beatiful beaches and is a duty free port, where you may buy imported clothes, beverages and food at reasonable prices.
