Charming little house/villa in small village in Nayarit, just 25 minutes nth of Chacala and it's award winning Beach and 20 minutes south of Compostela, a quite larger old colonial town where cowboys still ride their horses down the street.
Mesillas is a very friendly and safe village which is quite progressive (they have a cafe with the best iced coffee I've tasted). The local coffee industry is one of the largest in the area. There is a restaurant, three cafes, a mechanic, a church, a school, two general stores, a deposito (beer shop), a canteena and a sculptor.
It is a small village situated between Las Varas and Compostela, so it is half way up a mountain which makes it a little cooler and away from the crowds of tourists. From the house you have amazing sunset and ocean views everyday of Chacala Beach and the beautiful lake near Chacala.
There is a new highway being completed by 2018 I have seen parts of it completed on travels. This means that Mesillas in the near future will turn into a quiet village on a scenic road down to the beaches of Chacala, Colleta and San Blas (they are the ones I know and have surf)
Puerto Vallarta airport is app an hour and a half and Guadalajara is app two and a half. Las Varas is a business centre and is 15 mins down the road.
Chacala markets are every Saturday morning where you can buy orgánica salads!
The highway can be noisy when it's busy but it's quiet and peaceful living mostly and the traffic will quieten down when the new highway is completed. See map below? I tried to paste the links but couldn't see them here!
I have had high quality people do a wonderful job of building, plumbing and electrical work, It is a solid little house and can be locked up like a little fort. The house has two rooms plus a bodega/wash room and bathroom. The first room is approx 3x3.5mtrs, the bedroom is approx 3.5 x 3.5mtrs. The bodega and bathroom are approx 2.5 x 2 mtrs each. The outdoor area is 7x4 metres with an outdoor kitchen. The whole house is approx 9.5x7.5 mtrs. Appliances include washing machine, coffee machine, electric jug and toaster, large toaster oven and microwave, electric hotplate and electric frypan.
It is fully self contained and furnished.
Traditional brick ceilings inside the house with ceiling fans in both rooms. Outdoor area has lights above the kitchen area and in the centre of the OD area, and a ceiling fan. There is a traditional peeler (hand washer) on the back veranda. The block has a large septic system. village water and electricity.
The block has been partly landscaped and is 25mts by 50 mts. It is a rural village block, slight hill, lots of large rocks with two lovely big shade trees out front and I have planted palms, bouganvillas, moringa and a small garden around the septic. The block is on the dirt road that leads to a natural hot springs in about 15 minutes to the left and the main village to the right in one minute.
I am selling my lovely little house at a very reasonable price as I have a family illness. The price makes it easy for you to put the house in a trust which most gringos feel better about but I prefer it the way it is and not have to pay lots of extra $ to people who do nothing and when the laws are changing.
