Pure rainwater, collected onsite, is in profusion and supports the aqua needs of the retreat. All wastewater is recycled on site. Recycling, energy and water conservation is practised by the retreat and its neighbouring community.
Water
Potable water is collected from the roofs in two 40,000 litre and two 5,000 litre tanks. The site is connected to a reticulated system used throughout Crystal Waters, which supply water from Scrub Creek for laundry, garden and emergency fire use.
Waste-water
efficient waste management system Wastewater is managed onsite using the ‘Ozzi Kleen’ domestic sewage treatment system, allowing the water to be reused for irrigation in accordance with Council requirements. Onsite processing of household organic materials and wastewater is a practical and m designed to ensure that any water leaving the site will not become a source of pollution.
Energy
The primary source of power is provided by a connection to the grid, a solar boosted heat pump provides hot water and gas is used for cooking. LPG bottles are delivered weekly to Crystal Waters.

Schools and nearby facilities
The Conondale Primary School is just seven kilometres from the retreat, where you'll find tennis courts, swimming pool, a small store and petrol station. Maleny offers pre-school, primary and high schools.
Access
Vehicular - Maintained by the Crystal Waters body corporate, a private, sealed road services Lots 66 and 67.
Cycling - The sealed roads in Crystal Waters have a speed limit of 40km/hr, making them safely suitable for cycling.
Pedestrian - A network of pathways connects Waterbreath Retreat to the common land and through Crystal Waters. They also lead to forest and river walks.
