Apartment For Rent in Nice France

Villa Bonheur

Rent It For: $632 USD per week

Listening to gulls, breakfasting on the terrace, overlooking gardens of orange, lemon, and palm trees with the sea glimmering just beyond. You would never believe you were in the center of Nice, right off the port, beside Coco beach.

Just a few minutes walk to the museums, Promenade des Anglais, the Marché des Fleurs, the Chateau, and the Medieval city. Villa Bonheur is one of five charming villas of the 1800's right on the sea front with lofty ceilings, period furniture and chandeliers, polished oak floors and lots of sunlight DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

From the marble and tile entrance hall we enter the apartment through a massive mahogany front door. Directly opposite on entering is -

The elegant drawing room with large south facing bay window. There is a selection of sofas, easy chairs and a rocking chair with books, games, and a TV.

To the right is the dining room (telephone point) and with an Italian monastery table that easily seats 12 and a cedar chest underneath the window (also south to the sea views and light house) which contains dressing up clothes, roller skates, and snorkels, flippers and masks.

The terrace opens out off the dining room looking over gardens with the Mediterranean beyond

Back to the centre of the apartment and to the right is a WC, and hand basin and next to that down the hallway

The Provençal kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, stove, cooker, fridge freezer, mixer, iron, ironing board and the central heating and the water heating all included. There is a table and chairs by the large window facing the gardens of the villa behind

The blue bedroom is next, with ornately painted double bed, sofa, dresser, wardrobe, and lava lamp, full again of the southern sun with the scent from the orange tree drifing in on the breeze.

Next along is the warm tones room with double spindle bed, dresser, wardrobe, armchair and desk with phone - again south facing with a glimpse of the harbour and the light house illuminating the room at night.

The single west bedroom is a fantasy play room of key clamp jungle gym with high level bed, rope swings, ladders and pulleys. There is also a fold out bed if anyone doesn't fancy the high life.

The Victorian bathroom has a full sized cast iron bath with claw feet, additional WC, and basin.

  • THERE IS ANOTHER APARTMENT (Apt 2) AVAILABLE OF A SIMILAR SIZE WITH A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT CONFIGURATION ON FLOOR ABOVE THIS APARTMENT.
Details will be on the website in the near future - for more information please inquire to address supplied at bottom of page.
ABOUT THE AREA

As most people agree Nice is the premiere city of the Cote d'Azur - easy to get to by air, rail, road, or sail.

The cultural, musical and artistic life is thriving with some 40 theatre companies, opera, ballet; hundreds of galleries and some of the most famous museums in the world (Matisse, Chagall, Renoir, Dufy, Picasso, Leger, Klein, etc)

The Cour Salaya is a hive of boutiques, antique shops and night spots. You can roller blade straight into many restaurants right off the Promenade des Anglais. Cimiez is a well of tranquility with the Greek and Roman ruins laid out just next to the Fransiscan Monatery in the olive grove that surrounds the Matisse museum

From the port you can catch a ferry to the islands, Villefranche, St Tropez, even Corsica. Hire a boat or scuba dive, snorkel, and play in the sea

Nice is the second most visited city in France after Paris, and was inhabited as long as 450,000 years ago, when mammoths roamed the surrounding hills! England has long had an affiliation with the city, being responsible for bringing in the casino and the Promenade des Anglais (built to protect English girls from the charms of the local Niçois). Vieux Nice is a great place to shop and go to night-clubs and restaurants. There is so much to see and do in this exciting city - you have to go yourself to enjoy its magic!

For those wishing to venture further afield, Monaco is the next exit up the autoroute towards Italy, and naturally one is just a short drive away from Vintimiglia with its large open shopping market, and from there the Italian Riviera beckons.

Taking the opposite direction on the autoroute, one soon arrives at Antibes and Cannes. Following the coastal road from there leads one eventually to St. Tropez and the myriad delights offered by this celebrity filled tourist mecca. But when one tires of the crowds, the well-known countryside of the South of France welcomes all with its endless vineyards, timeless villages and numerous wonderful restaurants.
