Building Plots in Large Mature Olive Grove for Sale in Koroni, Messinia, Greece

Building Plots in Large Mature Olive Groves with Sea Views

Ayia Panayia, Petrolaka, 6,500 m2 with 120 mature olive trees: €69,000 (approx. £48,000)

This is on or close to the site of the church of Ayios Panayia, possibly sacked and abandoned as a consequence of pirates raiding the coastline. Local village folk lore has it that during the feast of the Holy Mother, candle lit processions paid homage at the ruin, a tradition that seems to have died out around the turn of the last century. There are at least 120, old and very old, well maintained and highly productive olives trees on this site. There is an old house at the northern edge of this site which would be included in the sale, with the few remaining stones of the Church and its crypt at the southern end. A piece of adjacent olive grove, which follows the road and slopes down toward to the river, south of the plot, would be available, by separate negotiation for around €15,000 (£10,500). There is a choice of three primary schools and one secondary school within 3-4 miles (20mins beautiful leisurely drive), two of which are used to taking on and developing the skills of non Greek speaking pupils. This site is at the fringes of the village of Harokopio, so electricity and water would be easily connected and could be done so as part of any sale.

Ayios Yannis, Platinos, 18,000m2 with 360 olive trees €120,000 (approx. £84,000)
Ayios Yannis is named after the church which was on or near the site. As would be expected by the site of an old church it is an elevated site which also benefits from its own private water supply, useful for horticulture. This plot could be divided in two and sold independently as 2 x 9000m2 plots with 180 trees €60,000 (£42,000)each, both with spectacular views, plenty of olives, space and seclusion. The ideal location of two houses on this crescent shaped plot, would mean one house would not be visible from the other. Planning regulations would permit the building of 2 houses of up to 400 m2 on each site, if divided in two, something larger if a single site, or smaller if subdivided further. The site produced approx. 3000lts of olive oil last year. Again, a choice of three primary schools and one secondary school are within 3-4 miles (20mins beautiful leisurely drive), two of which are used to taking on and developing the skills of non Greek speaking pupils. And also similarly at the fringes of the village of Harokopio, electricity and water could be connected as part of the sale.
