The surrounding farm area is protected land and ideal for game viewing. Prominent species inlude Leopard, Lynx, schakal and a variety of antilopes like Kudu, Springbok, Klipspringer, Oryx. Ostrich in abundance.

From the top of the mountain, prefferred sundownerpoint, the fish river canyon can be viewed. There is also the possibility to explore the fish river by car as a life time experiance.

The Lodge is located on Vogelstrausskluft Farm land, west of the fish river. The eastern border is the mid of the fish river. Approx. 50 km of the canyon belong to the farm, which can be used by the lodge owner and the guest for recreational activities. Details have to be dealt with the farm owner Galaxy Enterprises Pty. Ltd. in case the option with longterm lease of the land is chosen.

The selling price varies for the option to buy the Lodge only without the land. In this case a long term lease (99 years) can be negotiated for the touristic use of the land.

A landing strip is registered and can be used in dry seasons (please equire).
