Renovated 18th Century Townhouse South Of Rome

Priverno is one of the best kept secrets of the Roman countryside, and therefor not yet invaded by tourism. In Priverno you can find the archeological sites of the antique Roman city of Privernum, there's an 'Archeological Museum', a 'Medieval Museum' and the breathtaking 12th Century Abbey of Fossanova. The National Park of Circeo is around the corner.

You enter into the silent courtyard-terrace with patio (50 m2). On the groundfloor (1st floor from streetlevel) there's a small apparment of 40m2, with a cosy living-kitchen (with fireplace), two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Going up the stairs from the courtyard-terrace you enter in the second, spacious appartment (90 m2) on the first floor (2nd floor from streetlevel). The kitchen (with fireplace) and the livingroom have beautiful 5 meter high beamed ceilings. There are 2 bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub.

A third small bathroom and laundryroom can found in the back of the patio-terrace. The two seperate appartments have their own entrance and share the courtyard-terrace.

The nearby beach-resorts of Sabaudia and Circeo are a favourite place for 'sophisticated Romans'. Circeo was 'discovered' by moviestar Ingrid Bergman in the Sixties and the writer Alberto Moravia and filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci built their holiday homes in Sabaudia. The surrounding hilltowns like Priverno are still like Tuscany 30 years ago, but prices are going up fast because of the unique combination of cultural highlights, beaches, a beautiful countryside and the possibility of daytrips to Rome. The Mediterrenean climate south of Rome is wonderful: last year we had our Christmaslunch on the terrace of this house in Priverno.
