True Island Beachfront Dive Resort

The dive resort is located on the south side of Roatan, in Port Royal, ere is 5 acres with 500' of incredible waterfront. You can see virgin reef right from the shoreline!

Port Royal history is steeped in pirate lore. In the 1600's, over 5,000 pirates called Port Royal home. The fresh water springs, timber, and proximity to the Spanish sea trading routes were part of the attraction. The flat elevated portion of the property was used by the pirates as a cannon placement to protect the channel into Port Royal from the Spanish. Many artifacts have been recovered on the property. There is a stone staircase on the property from this period. As well, Fort Key, a pirate fort, is clearly visible from the beach, and is still intact. Fort Frederick is located just around the corner from the property with a strategic position overlooking the only other channel into Port Royal. This pirate fort is still relatively intact. The history of an area such as this is unsurpassed in all of the Caribbean.

Located on a pristine private beach, this exclusive resort has five large, two- story beachfront cabanas, set in a lush tropical landscape. Each unique, quality constructed cabana is 800-840 square feet of living space. Beautifully appointed with a spacious modern bathroom with Bosch propane hot water heaters, a deck with ocean views, covered screened in lower porches, and an artesian crafted roof of bay palm, highlight the tropical ambience. The floors are hardwood, granite and tile throughout. Cast brass fans and period light fixtures accent the decor of handcrafted regional material.

There is a V-sat internet satellite system that provides wireless internet access as well as VOIP throughout the resort. As well, all electrical components are 110v US standard, powered by a 2.2kw solar array with a large battery bank, and a pair of 25kw generators. The landscape and path lighting is 110v, which looks spectacular at night.

Additionally, located on the property are a two story, two bedroom 850 square foot manager's residence, and a dive master residence. Another 500 square foot apartment with deck and office are located on the second floor of the dive shop.

A complete dive shop building housing the dive equipment room, workshop, compressor room, generator room, bathroom, shower, rinse tanks, tank fill station, storage bodega, and a covered dive staging area.

There are two large heavy duty docks, both over 130' long. One is used for dive boat access and has several slips for boat parking. The other accesses the over water bar, swim ladder and sunbathing area. Both are constructed of 12" diameter double walled PVC tubing for posts, and rough cut, CCQ treated lumber for the above water portions. They are through bolted and screwed together. No nails were used.

The landscaping is rapidly maturing. There are hundreds of palms and flowers. There is also mango, cashew, coco plum, pineapple, coconut, passion fruit, avocado, lime, orange, sour sop, craboo, almond, and more edible fruit producing plants. There is over 1700' of stamped concrete sidewalk paths with custom 110v path lighting.

There are two water wells located on the property established in the artesian springs. There is more fresh water available from these wells than can possibly be used. They feed Port Royal creek, which is the eastern boundary of the property. This creek is navigable from the mouth to 200' inland for safe harbor. There, three boat slips assure safe keeping of the water craft.

The property is fenced on three sides with a well established survey. This particular property has the oldest land title in Port Royal, and has belonged to only two owners since 1970.

The resort is accessed by a ten to fifteen minute boat ride from Oakridge over the beautiful reef that runs for miles out in front of the private beach on the property. This reef offers uncontested world class diving literally a swim from shore.

The resort comes truly turnkey.
