This charming Spanish Colonial guest house, located on Playa Flamingo's exclusive North Ridge, is but part of our large private estate on Costa Rica's gorgeous "Gold Coast." The house has an incredible view, with astounding birdseye perspective of the Pacific Ocean, the Catalina Islands, and Playa Flamingo below. There are very few vacation rentals (if any) of this class available in this area.
About Casita Bananaluna:
Semi-attached to our larger home, the guest house has 2 bedrooms: one king size bed in the master bedroom, two double beds in second bedroom, and a sleeper sofa in the living room- ideal for as many as three couples. It also has 2 bathrooms, a nicely tiled kitchen, living/dining room, and porch facing the Pacific Ocean. There is a modern A/C unit and ceiling fan in each bedroom and the living/dining room, with coded safes for your passports and valuables in each bedroom. Because we actually live on and manage the estate, security is a priority; there is a gated driveway and a locking metal gate on the breezeway to the front door. Amenities include wireless internet, use of our chlorine-free infinity pool, and a private forest trail winding down the face of the ridge to the beach 200 feet below. Only two other houses have private direct access to the beach like this! We are also across the street from Restaurante Mar y Sol, an exclusive gourmet restaurant serving European cuisine, and the finest steaks and seafood anywhere found in Costa Rica. Also with an incredible view of the Pacific, the Sunset Lounge there is a great way to end the day with both locals, and people from all over the world.
About Flamingo:
Playa Flamingo has great access to all major roads and is a little over an hour from Liberia International Airport (LIR). Central to all major Gold Coast beach destinations and surf breaks, Flamingo is a classier hideaway known for its upscale homes, uncrowded pristine white sand beach and breathtaking sunset views. It's not overdeveloped like Tamarindo has become, and the howler monkeys still cruise the tree trails that cross our property. For surfers there is a powerful left point break that works great when the swell gets big. Just steps away, there is the first class Restaurante Mar y Sol, serving continental cuisine for dinner from a garden dining area, or an air conditioned dining room. There are also a good number of quality bars and restaurants within walking distance and on neighboring beaches Potrero and Brasilito (5-10 min drive). Good groceries and gifts can also be obtained there too.
Other close-by excursions:
Tamarindo is an easy, fully paved, 25 min drive if you want to join the hustle and bustle, party down, or go shopping for souvenirs (we prefer the private peace and tranquility of the "North Ridge").
Other closeby beach destinations include Playa Negra, Avellanas, Langosta, Tamarindo, Playa Grande, Conchal, Brasilito, Potrero, Sugar Beach, Playas del Coco, Hermosa (Witch's Rock and Ollie's Point are accessed by boat from Coco). Easy inland destinations include Liberia, Santa Cruz, Rincon de la Vieja Volcanic Reserve, and the Tempisque River (jungle boat tours).
Our son is an avid surfer and knowledgeable tour guide who can help you find the best waves, national parks, fiestas, and most beautiful places to photograph. He offers surf lessons for $45/hr, and educational half-day tours for as little as $60 per family. Ask when making your reservation to secure his services. Therapeutic and Relaxation Massage
