More importantly, only 15 minutes from the recently discovered lost city of the Chachapoya civilization, a fortified pre-inca stone city, called Kuelap.

The house was restored in October of 2006, and was occupied for one month only. Restoration work comprised of a complete new roof, installation of plumbing for entire house, including sewage and water, installation of electricity for entire house, plastering of interior and exterior walls, new floors (hard wood and stone), installation of two full bathrooms, installation of kitchen, installation of two fireplaces with chimneys, installation of new ceilings, installation of windows and doors, and installation of patio.

The house was restored maintaining the integrity of andean rustic architecture, but adding modern comforts.

What remains to be done is landscaping the immediate garden, and some general beautifying of exterior.
