SITUATED:
Western Cape, between Robertson and Swellendam on the R60. The farm adjoins the Robertson Wine Valley, which is fast becoming the best Wine Route in the Cape considering the large variety of Wine Cellars and the cultivars grown in the area. The area is also the major producer of Peaches and Apricots. Also Citrus, Plums, Nectarines, Olives and Persimmons.

LOCATION:
The farm is set at the foot of the picturesque Langeberg Mountains, straddling the R60 highway, 10 Kilometres outside the small village of Ashton. The setting is beautiful and lends itself to an unbelievable quality of life. Peaceful and tranquil. The R60 today is probably one of the most popular and desirable routes in the Western Cape and only 2 hours from Cape Town.

RAINFALL:

OPERATIONS:
The Vineyard:
4ha Vineyard – 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, which harvest is sold to Ashton Winery.

The Orchards:
2ha Figs
The Fig harvest is processed in-house by selling firstly Green Fig Preserve, followed by ripe fig Jam, which is sold to the public.
2ha Apricots
The Apricot harvest is delivered to Langeberg and Ashton Canning factories in Ashton.

The Piggery:
Piggery - At any one time there are approximately 100-120 pigs, which are bred on the farm and fattened for the market.
When fattening is complete the pigs are sold to local butchers, whilst more and more are being processed through our in-house butcher shop. We also have a breeding herd of 30 Sows and 2 Boars producing between 400-450 piglets per annum

Free Whey from the next-door Cheese Factory makes the operation profitable, as it comprises 30% of the Pigs feed requirements.

THE B & B:
B&B and self-catering facilities operates on the farm through the Main House, catering for 12 people at present. A further self-catering unit will be available, which will be large enough for 4-6 people.

THE BUTCHERY:
Licenced butchery with an established clientele, selling our own stock and buying-in other products.

IRRIGATION:
There is 10ha water available through the local irrigation scheme, plus a further 5 million litres from dams on the property.

DRINKING WATER:
The farm also receives 5 Million litres per year, fresh drinking water, through a pipeline from 2 mountain springs. One borehole providing approximately 2,000 litres per hour. 40,000 litres storage tanks for drinking water.

ARABLE LAND:
Approximately 40ha cleared and under cultivation. Another 45ha old wheat fields.
