The coast between West Bay to West End is a 2 miles "golden coast". Nice houses and resorts are under construction. There are no high apartments or condominium buildings. The area has very good services and animation around; it is very well protected from hurricanes, In front of the lot the laqgoon is 1,500 ft wide,quiet and safe for boats. The area is down the hill, well protected from hurricanes. 10 minutes walk along the white sand beach (to West Bay village), 15 minutes walk to West End village, along beaches, passing two small points with rocks; or few minutes ride by water taxis passing in front of the property or with your own boat; or by car, the property has a private cemented road which exits on the main road between West End and West Bay. This cemented road is steep at the end; it was just repaired, a new entrance is under construction it will be much nicer and easier to use. The road is very well done, very stable, around 40 home owners have lots on the side of this road and use this road. There is not one single small lot really nearly on the beach in the West Bay area, with a cemented access road, electricity and water on the property on the market. The area is developping at a fast pace, with large residential properties (most of them 3 to 4 acres lots) with big houses, nice wooded landscapes for sale in the $ 300-600,000 range. Electricity: An electric pole is on the other side of the cement road, 15 ft from the lot for sale. The lot also has an underground electrical conduit, to pull a line from another electric pole, 200 ft uphill. Underground line is nicer and safer. Water: There is a community well, water lines are in place, water is on the lot. Each lot owner will also be encouraged to have his/her own cistern, to serve as buffer. Safety: Few years ago, there were small risks of robberies during the day, when the houses were empty. To-day, with many constructions under way in the area, safety is much higher. The municipality also put up "tourist police teams", riding on the beach on quads. This is really the safest place in the island. As more houses are being built, this will inrease safety. A future HOA will decide on common services such as day and night guards for a cluster of lots, trash collection, lights along the road, and on the periphery of some lots, etc.).
