PUNTA PIRO

On the east side of Isla Parida, in the Lost Islands of Baru, is a little peninsula with 2.7 hectares at the tip which is now offered for sale with Panama corporation for $49,000. About 15 miles south of Boca Chica and 25 miles SE of David in Chiriqui province of Panama, Punta Piro is a fine island property with all the best features and without the big price tag.

With its own classic coconut fringed 300 foot light sand beach and protected anchorage for boats, Punta Piro rises 70 feet with water on three sides and very fine ocean views to the east. Many islets and rocks dot the serene view from the logical building site. An old well provides fresh water. Extended flat areas slope gently to the south, with mango trees and pineapples here and there.

There are no worthy structures, only a bamboo shack left behind by a previous fisherman owner. The property is rights of possession with all supporting documents in order, duly registered at the Chiriqui notary. An essay on rights of possession status is available upon request- there is not much difference from titled land due to strict Panama laws protecting foreign and local landholders alike. In 2006 Panama enacted Law #2 (Island Law) which provides for a directly granted 90 year concession on island ROP property in national parks, such as this property. Thus an investment would be virtually guaranteed and risk free.


Included is a 512 sq meter lot in Chorcha Abajo on the mainland, on the Estero Chorcha, with a concrete ramp and boat port where a boat hangar could be built. From Chorcha one can go by newly improved roads to David (22 km) and directly by inland waters to Isla Parida and Punta Piro in about an hour. The lot is in the entitlement process at Pronat and has rights of possession status as of now. To build the ramp cost us $10,000.
