Tucked into the side of a hill in the small village of Aldea El Hato, each of the property's buildings boast spectacular volcano views in a calm, tranquil setting. Rated #6 of 159 Specialty Lodging accommodations on TripAdvisor for several years, the hotel operates at an 80% average year-round occupancy rate. The hotel is famous for its uniquely built treehouses and wood cabins, all with stunning views of the Panchoy Valley and Volcanoes Agua, Fuego & Acatenango. Some of the rooms are solar powered and there is back- up solar power for the main lodge area in case of a power outage (very rare). There is also a solar panel system set up to sell back to the grid. The lodge has a large green area and a playground for kids and visiting families.

The property's organic avocado orchard has roughly 400 Hass Avocado trees plus there are various fruit trees spread throughout the property. Harvest totals are around 18,000-20,000 pounds of avocados throughout the year. The avocados are used in making the restaurant's famous guacamole. When the harvest is more than the restaurant can use, the surplus is sold to a local wholesaler. Most of the trees are around 12-14 years old, but there are also several younger trees spread throughout the orchard.

Completed in 2018, the property now has a 1000 square foot, fully equipped yoga studio that is also used as a wellness retreat center. The studio is by far the largest in the Antigua area and the only retreat center with a fully functioning hotel and restaurant. The Antigua area is an increasingly popular destination for wellness tourism, especially due to its close proximity to Guatemala City and La Aurora International Airport (roughly a 1-hour drive).

The village of El Hato has been connected to the electric grid for over 15 years. Within the past few years, the village has also been added to the municipal water system. The road from Antigua to El Hato is a well maintained newly paved concrete road. For several years, the current owners have raised money for the local school and hosted numerous fundraisers to pay for various village infrastructure projects (water tubes, road work, etc.).
