Reluctantly selling my property in Copper Bank Village, Belize. It is situated on one of the main roads in the center of the village, directly on the bus route. It is a corner lot measuring 30 X 40 metres. There is a partially built structure close to the street-side portion of the lot. It has a well built 1400 square foot foundation with exterior walls encompassing a slightly smaller interior floor area.
Copper Bank is a small, tranquil, fishing village of 470 people on the shores of Laguna Seca in nothern Belize. It has a lazy tropical charm. The property is about 150 metres upslope from the lagoon with a partial ocean view. A second story on the structure would create one.
I found village people to be engaging, helpful and kind, and I have made many friends during my stays there. I have never felt threatened or unsafe. Only a few gringos live in Copper permanently which has been perfect for me as someone trying to escape the frantic pace of North American life. If you love the laid back Belizean people and lifestyle in a small community setting, then this could be the place for you.
There is a productive well on the property. It has small coconut trees, an orange tree, a lemon tree and one more fruit tree that I can't remember the name of. Another large tree shades the front of the building. There are other attractive trees and shrubs. Tended grass covers the remainder.
The surrounding area is lush, pristine jungle. The local bird, animal and plant life is fantastic! Cerros Mayan Ruins and many beautiful swimmng beaches are only a short drive away. Belize contains so much history, diverse ecosystems and cultures, that it is impossible not to be overwhelmed with awe. Fishing, hiking, kayaking, bird watching, the recreational opportunities are endless. Copper Bank is an excellent home base to explore the entire country and local attractions.
A 50 million dollar highway project that runs close to Copper Bank will be completed in approximately 2 years. This will eliminate the hazardous dirt roads and hand crank ferries currently in use, and make Corazol a pleasant 20 minute drive away.
I have been forced to sell the property due to illness and injury so I can no longer afford to develop it. I had originally intended to create a bed and breakfast with living quarters, as I think property and structure are perfectly suited and located for it. It could also easily serve as a business location, vacation home or permanent residence. Put a roof on it! Your choice.
