This is a cozy wooden house surrounded by a sea of concrete houses. The stunning hardwood floor in the large Living/Dining Room, all 3 large Bedrooms and even the front deck is made of Chanul, a hardwood almost unique to Ecuador. All of the framing in the house is also made of similar long lasting hardwood. This wood will still be strong and intact when the nearby concrete houses are crumbling all around it. The 3 bathrooms (attached to the 3 bedrooms) and the kitchen have floors of high quality ceramic tile.

Unlike most housing in Ecuador the 3 bedrooms are all very large. Each comes with a Queen Bed but could easily accommodate 2 Queens or 1 Queen plus 1 or 2 bunk beds. These rooms could sleep from 16 to 18 family members with room to spare.

And thanks to the wonderful cooling ocean breezes we have never felt a need for air conditioning. The large ceiling fans are only turned on during the summer months and are all that is ever needed to keep the house comfortable.

After 10 years here we are leaving Ecuador to go back to Canada due to family pressures but have loved this house and property. We wish we could just pick them up and take them back to Canada with us.
