Our lovely hostal is situated in the small beach town of Palomino, La Guajira. Situated between two rivers, the Caribbean Sea and the mountain ranges, it is considered a hidden gem on the Caribbean coast.

Hostal Building

The hostal is centrally located in town, on the main road that leads to the beach. Both the beach and the river can be easily reached within walking distance.

The hostal features 10 private rooms, five of which have an attached patio. All rooms have a private bathroom; some are equipped with a fan, others with air conditioning.

The first floor also has an indoor patio where breakfast and lunch are served, along with a reception and kitchen area. The second floor houses the owners' on-site private room with an attached bathroom and patio. Further on the second floor are a storage room for hostal utilities, a storage room for work and maintenance materials, and a social space of over 100 square meters. The second floor could be organized as a restaurant, a cafe, or another business. The building is low maintenance.

Tourism

Palomino welcomes tourists all year round. Though many people define it as a backpacker town, you will encounter all kinds of travelers: solo travelers, overlanders, local Colombian couples or families, foreign couples on a short or long trip through Colombia and Latin America, seniors, digital nomads, and yoga lovers.

Certain periods of the year are considered high season, mainly due to local holidays (December through March, June through September). Foreign tourists tend to visit all year round, keeping Palomino constantly active. It benefits from a steady flow of tourists thanks to being a hub for the many tourist attractions in the region.

You can easily manage the property yourself, allowing you to stay in touch with all your guests and provide personal, attentive service. During high season, the hostal has near-full occupancy almost every day. Throughout the year, we maintain an average occupancy of around 70 percent. This has been possible thanks to attracting digital nomads during low season and a post-pandemic increase in the average number of nights spent per room.
